Mal Smith: drums. Drums and bass make this Ceilidh band rock. Julian Burton: Squeeze boxes and Saxophones. Julian's sax playing takes Ceilidh music into new and jazzy territories. We play all that fiddle-de-dee stuff, then Julian gets out his tenor sax for Jump at the Sun and things change up a gear - or three! Or take King of the Fairies. A set of hornpipes starts with a reggae edge, finishes more like a New Orleans marching band. Magic!  Stephen is from Nairn, near Inverness, and Ian is from Edinburgh. They have a duet repertoire featuring many reels and Strathspeys. Kilts will be worn when appropriate! And by the way, we also play the blues ..... |
